Exercise
This class consists of gentle stretching, walking and isometrics. The exercises have been developed specifically to assist the detoxification process, quieting the mind and relaxing the body.
Group Time
Support groups are held daily prior to meals. With inspirational readings and a focus on H.G.H.I’s word for the day, guests come together in fellowship.
Tour of the Grounds (Open to the Public)
H.G.H.I facilitators lead visitors on a tour of the grounds, explaining special areas such as the Multipurpose Room, and Wheat Grass juicing room. They share the history of the complex, and offer a general overview of H.G.H.I and its mission.
General Orientation (Open to the Public)
New guests and inquirers are welcomed to learn about our program and the history of Dr. Ann Wigmore. We will talk about H.G.H.I’s holistic program.
Personal Time
Time is provided each day for guests to spend in their rooms, the garden, meditation room or at our health spa to reflect on their purpose in life and on opportunities for healing.

New guests are introduced to general rules and guidelines of the H.G.H.I program to help them achieve the most from their stay.

Daily Classes M-F
Computer Classes:
Daily Instructors will be available to teach healthy research on the internet. Typing Lessons: there will be software to teach typing skills, from beginners through advanced. One of our tutors will set you up on the computer and then you can choose the typing software. We will even have typing games for those who are more advance. It is very important to familiarize yourself with all the features of a computer. There are a wide range of healthy living, resources online.
Food Preparation Classes:
Daily Health Educators will be available for Individual or group sessions on dehydrating, juicing, sprouting and organic gardening. You will receive a folder with healthy living recipes inside.
Body Movement Classes:
Daily Exercise classes will be announced on a weekly calendar.
Juicing Instruction
First week guests learn how to juice wheatgrass – the power food at the heart of the H.G.H.I detoxifying and maintenance program. They also learn what essential nutrients are in fresh, organic wheatgrass juice.
Program Basics
First week guests are introduced to the basics of our holistic program. "L.E.A.F to Healing Getaway Health Institute": Living a healthy lifestyle, Elevate your Mind, Body and Spirit, Accept and believe who you can become, and Focus-expands. Guests are introduced to the disciplines for cleansing and detoxifying the body and learn what to expect physically and emotionally as their bodies cleanse.
Tools for Change
First week guests are provided important ways to care for the body using products and activities that support healing. They also review tips from the Program Basics class and receive additional instruction concerning how to use their new H.G.H.I Planner.
Relaxation and Pain Control
First week guests are introduced to stress reduction techniques for quieting the mind, relaxation, pain control, sleep and spiritual growth.
Sprouting Instructions
Second week guests learn the importance of predigested foods and the basics of sprouting.
Focus Expands
Second week guests learn about “addictive demands/attitudes” and how they affect happiness.
Sauerkraut Instruction
Third week guests make sauerkraut and other fermented foods, and learn the benefits of fermented foods as a tool in the healing process.
Elevate your Body, Mind and Spirit
Through Yoga, Third week guests learn how to channel the power of the mind to relax and heal the body.

Elimination
First week guests learn how all the body’s eliminative systems work to remove toxins, what some of the physical manifestations of detoxification are, and how to help the body detoxify in order to achieve and maintain optimal health.
Emotional Detoxification
All guests get more practice in stress reduction techniques. They are taught to use stress reduction techniques to provide support in managing stress, healing emotionally, learning the importance of forgiveness, how to release negative feelings and how to forgive others as well as themselves.
Focus 1
Success Stories of the month: This is a new class, for second week guests. Guests learn about others, who have found success through a healthy living style. Guests learn how to focus on what matters most in their lives and the transformational changes that are important to them.
Stress Reduction Techniques
Third week guests review stress reduction basics. They discuss ideas and practices for maintaining their healthy lifestyle. They also focus on becoming more consistent in using the stress reduction techniques.
Dehydrated Foods
Third week guests receive initial instruction in the preparation of foods which support the healing process.
Wednesday

Communication
Second week guests learn empathetic listening techniques and the use of non-judgmental language for building relationships and personal healing.
Digestion
First week guests are introduced to the anatomy and function of the digestive system, and learn which foods can assist in the healing process.
Mental Detoxification
In this stress reduction techniques class, first week guests continue to learn about the power of this higher state of consciousness. They discover why negative thoughts are toxic to the body and to spiritual growth while, positive thoughts send healing energy throughout the body and assist in reaching goals.
Focus 2
The second part of the instruction on using the H.G.H.I Planner focuses on effectively carving out time for daily, weekly, monthly, annual and lifetime goals. It also emphasizes the importance of scheduling specific times to enrich mind, body and spirit.
Conscious Breathing
Second week guests discuss and experience the gifts of using breathing techniques as a spiritual discipline supporting the healing process.
You Validation
In this inspirational class, first week guests validate each other’s positive gifts in fellowship.
Advanced Dehydrated Foods
Third week guests receive hands-on instruction in preparing foods which support the healing process.

At Home Follow-up
Second week guests review the cleansing aspects of our holistic program and learn how to integrate them into their lives when they return home.
Diet Maintenance
Third weeks guests learn the importance of continuing to eat raw live vegetarian foods when they return home. They learn which foods are cleansing to the body, how to transition to a diet containing 20% cooked whole foods, and which foods interfere with the healing process.
Food Combining
First week guests learn what makes a good optimal healing diet and the rules of food combining.
Personal Care
Second week guests learn about personal care, including diet, hygiene and natural skin care.
Self-esteem
First week guests learn how a person’s self-esteem impacts his or her life, relationships, health and spiritual growth.
Toning
Guests find this spiritual class very helpful in putting their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual lives in balance through the use of tones, music and their own voices.

Implementing the Program
First week guests are introduced to the basic equipment needed for a raw food diet, including juicers and dehydrators. They also learn how to make the necessary lifestyle changes to continue the dietary aspects of the H.G.H.I program.
Menu Planning
Second week guests review the program and get practical tips for following the diet when they return home.
Conscious Breathing II
Third week guests discuss and experience the gifts of using breathing techniques as a spiritual discipline supporting the healing process.
Hands-on Wheatgrass
First week guests are instructed in the wheatgrass growing process in order to grow their own upon returning home.
Entrees & Buffet Preparation
Each guests will have an opportunity to make a food entrée, and gather for a taste party.
Organic Gardening
Second week guests learn how to prepare organic soil and receive practical tips for organic gardening, including chemical-free pest control.
Saturday
